Flavour-O-Rama Sun-Dried Tomato Bolognese (Vegan) Recipe

We'll show you how to make the perfect sun-dried tomato Bolognese sauce that will leave you wanting more. We'll also provide tips on how to cook the pasta to perfection and serve the dish with the perfect garnish.

First, make sure all vegetables are all washed and pat dried. Next, begin to chop all of the vegetables and herbs (red onion, shallot, plum tomato, garlic, green pepper, red pepper, thyme, parsley, basil). Next,  remove the sun-dried tomatoes from the jar and roughly chopped the sun-dried tomatoes. Next, open the tin of crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, to be used for the sauce later on. 

Add oil to warm pan or skillet. Let oil warm in the pan for at least 30 seconds to 1 min, and then add your green peppers, green peppers and onions. The onion and peppers will begin to bed fragrant and soften. After the peppers and onions soften, add minced garlic. Next, add the tomatoes. Saute tomatoes for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, add the tomato paste. Stir tomato paste with sauteed veggies. Next add sundried tomatoes, and vegan meat substitutes (if desired for this recipe). Add crushed tomatoes and stir ingredients. Next, stir in fresh herbs. Begin to stir in seasonings. Stir to incorporate all the ingredients together. Let the sauce simmer on the stove for 15 to 20 minutes. 

In this time, you may begin to cook the pasta of your choice. Cook pasta until al dente, according to the cooking directions on the pasta packaging. You may add Flavour-o-rama seasoning to add flavor to the water for the pasta to boil. When al dente, drain pasta, living about 2 tbsps of pasta water. Set aside. 

Begin to add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix together, covering the pasta with the sauce. Add small amounts of pasta water to the sauce to assist with the distribution over all of the pasta. Serve with desired sides (and wine of choice if you are feeling fancy 😊).

  • 1 red onion, chopped

  • 1 shallot, chopped

  • 1 plum tomato, chopped

  • 1 green pepper, chopped

  • 1 red pepper, chopped

  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 3-4 sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

  • 3-4 sprigs pf thyme, stems removed

  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped 

  • 1/3 cup fresh basil, chopped

  • 1 tin of tomato paste

  • 1 tin crushed tomato

  • 3 tbsp of flavour-o-rama (any flavor)

  • 1 tbsp herbs de province 

  • 3 tbsp of flavour-o-rama seasoning (any flavor)

  • 1 tbsp of curry powder

  • 2-3 tsp black pepper

  • 2-3 tsp of red pepper flakes

  • 3-4 tbsp of a neutral oil (i. e. avocado oil)

  • 6 oz vegan beef crumbles substitute (if desired) 

  • 6 oz vegan meatball substitute (if desired)
