What more can you ask for when deciding your next meal using your favorite Flavour-O-Rama spice mix?

Ingredients:

  • 0.4 oz of Flavour-O-Rama spice mix of your choice

  • 1/2 lb of a flat iron steak

  • 1/2 tsp of fine sea salt + more to taste

  • 1/4 tsp of freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp of avocado oil, divided

  • 2 oz of soba noodles (use gluten-free version if desired)

  • 1 small bunch of scallions

  • 1 cup of steamed veggies of your choice

  • 1 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven, setting it to 450 degrees F.

  2. Place the flank steak on a parchment-lined sheet pan. Rub the meat with 1 tbsp of avocado oil and salt and pepper. Make sure the meat is seasoned evenly throughout.

  3. Place the sheet pan in the top rack of the oven and bake for 10 minutes, flipping the steak halfway through. You may cook for 15 minutes if you want the steak to be well done instead of medium rare.

  4. Once the steak is ready to take out of the oven, wrap it in aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 10 minutes. This will ensure that the steak's juices will redistribute throughout the meat.

  5. Cook soba noodles according to the directions on the package they come in. Make sure to set up an ice bath to stop the residual cooking of the noodles when you drain them.

  6. Heat your avocado oil in a small saucepan on medium-high until the oil starts to shimmer. This may take about 1 to 2 minutes.

  7. Pour your spice mix into the hot oil and immediately take the pot off the heat. Let this mixture set until you are ready to assemble your dish.

  8. Finely chop the scallions, separating the whites and greens.

  9. Put the white parts of the onions in the chili oil.

  10. Taste the chili oil and add as much salt as you desire.

  11. Slice the steak against the grain into 1/4-inch thick slices.

  12. Assemble your dish by placing noodles in a bowl and thoroughly mixing them with your desired amount of chili oil (make sure to save some for pouring on the meat and vegetables).

  13. Place your sliced meat and steamed veggies on top of your noodles and pour some more chili oil on top.

  14. Garnish with scallion greens and toasted sesame seeds.

Enjoy!
