Introducing our Flavour-O-Rama Spring Salad with Zesty Vinaigrette—a perfect blend of fresh greens, crisp vegetables, and a tangy dressing that will tantalize your taste buds. Whether you're preparing a quick lunch or an elegant dinner, this salad is sure to impress.

In this post, we’ll guide you through creating this delightful dish, featuring our signature Flavour-O-Rama seasoning that elevates the vinaigrette to new heights. Plus, we’ll share tips on how to customize your salad with your favorite proteins and cheeses to make it uniquely yours. Ready to add a burst of flavor to your meals? Let’s get started!

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the Salad:

    • Wash and clean the mixed greens and arugula thoroughly. Mix well in a large bowl.

    • Prepare the remaining vegetables: slice the cherry tomatoes, chop the red onion, peel and chop the carrots and cucumber. Use a vegetable chopper for convenience if needed.

    • Just before serving, peel and cut the avocado to top the salad.

  2. Make the Zesty Vinaigrette:

    • In a clean glass jar with a lid, combine the extra virgin olive oil, white wine vinegar, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and all the spices and herbs.

    • Secure the lid and shake well until the ingredients are fully combined and emulsified. If you don't have a jar, mix the ingredients in a bowl with a whisk.

    • Store the vinaigrette in the refrigerator for up to one month.

  3. Assemble the Salad:

    • Toss the mixed greens and arugula with the prepared vegetables in a large serving bowl.

    • Add your choice of protein and cheese.

    • Drizzle the zesty vinaigrette over the salad just before serving and top with avocado slices.

For the Salad:

  • 8 ounces (1/2 pound) of fresh mixed green salad

  • 4 ounces of fresh arugula

  • 1/2 red onion, chopped

  • 2 carrots, shredded or ribboned

  • 1 pint of cherry tomatoes, sliced in half

  • 1 cucumber, chopped

  • 1 avocado, sliced or cubed

  • 4 ounces of cheese of your choice, grated (e.g., asiago)

  • Choice of protein (chicken, tofu, shrimp, etc.)

 

For the Zesty Vinaigrette:

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/2 cup white wine vinegar (or substitute with apple cider vinegar or balsamic)

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise (regular or vegan)

  • 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or agave/honey)

  • 2 teaspoons Flavour-O-Rama seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon chives, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
